Poland signs on the dotted line for Rosomak-S
The Polish MoD Armament Inspectorate has sealed a series of deals for Rosomak-S APCs and artillery munitions.
In line with comments in May by the Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Blaszczak, the MoD on 14 September ordered 60 of the Rosomak-S vehicles, which are designed to carry Spike-LR ATGMs, for delivery in 2021-22.
The stated contract price of PLN105.5 million ($28.1 million) indicates that the baseline vehicles have already been manufactured, so contractor Rosomak SA merely needs to convert them to the Rosomak-S configuration.
Rosomak is also providing the Polish Army with ammunition for the 152mm Dana M1 self-propelled howitzer (SPH); the 122mm 2S1T Goździk SPH; and the Mk44 Bushmaster and 23mm cannons.
Meanwhile, a Polish consortium led by Mesko (a subsidiary of state-owned PGZ) is providing 152mm AHS-77 ammunition. Deliveries under this PLN75.9 million deal are scheduled for 2020-22.
In the same timeframe, Mesko (with fellow Polish company Nitro-Chem) is delivering 122mm HBD-D-30 ammunition for PLN41.5 million.
