JV completes Javelin upgrade as Poland becomes latest FMS customer
The Javelin Joint Venture team, comprising Raytheon Missiles & Defense and Lockheed Martin, has completed the first production Javelin F-Model (FGM-148F) ATGM.
The F-model is the latest version of the missile system that has been used extensively in combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, with US and coalition forces using the Javelin in more than 5,000 engagements since its initial deployment in 1996.
The system has a range from 65m to 4km under most operational conditions.
